I am in awe. If anyone has ever wondered whether or not it's possible to have an internet family, it's more than possible - it's something I experience every day. It should probably feel weird saying that (you never know who's on the other side of the computer and all that junk) but calling the D-OC my family is the best way to even come close to covering what's it's like to be a part of this community. It's above and beyond friendship, and it just happens to be with people I've never met face to face (except for a handful of you).
The D-OC has given me, someone whose insurance company has fought her tooth and nail, the greatest gift of all.
Thanks to the kindness, love, and generosity of Ash, Jess, Stacey from The Girl with the Portable Pancreas, Kim from Texting My Pancreas and The You Can Do This Project, and, of course, my love Dustin, I now have a fully functioning Dexcom. The gratitude I feel is beyond words but words are all I have to give. The Dexcom has been a dream of mine for years, and now it's here - screeching at me in the middle of the night to tend to my lows. And I couldn't be happier.
From the bottom of my broken pancreas, thank you all SO so much.
